Your Huntington AC installation, explained before the guys show up.
AC Installation in Town of Huntington, NY
Serving Greenlawn, South Huntington, Huntington Village and the rest of Huntington
☎ (631) 769-2623A new central air system is a big purchase, and the sizing matters more than the brand. We do a proper load calculation, then four guys carry a very heavy box past your good furniture. In the Town of Huntington, that means Greenlawn, South Huntington, Huntington Village, Cold Spring Harbor, Northport, Melville, and everywhere in between.
AC Installation and Huntington homes
Two-story colonials often run one system for both floors, which leaves the upstairs hot. Zoning or a second system fixes it.
Historic homes in the villages, big colonials in Dix Hills and lots of high ranches and splits everywhere else.
Common signs around Greenlawn
- You're adding a finished attic, dormer or addition
- Your old unit uses R-22 refrigerant, which is no longer produced
- Some rooms are freezing while upstairs bedrooms bake
One installer will have a shirt that doesn't cover his whole belly. He'll be on your ladder.
How a Huntington AC installation job goes
- Room-by-room load calculation (Manual J), not a guess based on square footage
- Check existing ductwork for size and leaks
- Pick equipment: SEER2 efficiency, single vs. two-stage vs. variable speed
- Set the condenser pad, run the line set, wire it and pull a vacuum
Travel note: Northern State Parkway and Jericho Turnpike. We once spent a whole day stuck on Jericho Turnpike. We billed it as 'travel.'
Huntington AC Installation FAQ
How long does install take?
A straight swap is often one to two days. Our crew will take three, and they'll make it feel like five.
What size AC do I need?
It depends on insulation, windows, sun exposure and ceiling height, which is why a load calculation beats the 'one ton per 500 square feet' rule.
Do you really cover Melville?
Yes. Coming in on the LIRR Port Jefferson branch corridor, give or take a deli stop. The nice salesman measures your house. You will never see the nice salesman again.
